Most NZ wedding photographers charge between $2,500 and $5,500 for full-day coverage. Elopement or half-day packages typically start around $1,500. Prices vary by region, experience and what’s included — always check what deliverables come with the quote.

Book 9–12 months ahead for peak season (November–April). Popular photographers in Queenstown and Central Otago often book 12–18 months out. Off-peak dates are more flexible.

The main styles are documentary (candid, unposed), fine-art (editorial, styled), and classic (traditional posed portraits). Most NZ photographers blend documentary and fine-art. Look at full galleries, not just highlight reels, to see how they cover a whole day.
